Shadow Music "Theremin"

Tired of writing musical notes? Let the wave of your hand do it for you! A "theremin" is an electronic musical device invented by Léon Theremin in 1928 which turns motion to music. It senses the motion of the hand (by the change in light intensity) and converts it to electrical signals, which is then amplified and sent to a loudspeaker, or in our case a beeper.

A photocell connected to an input pin of the LogoChip senses the change in light intensity and converts an analog voltage between 0-3.3V to a 10-bit binary number (0-1023, in base 10). This number is then used as the frequency input for the beeper. to electrical signal which is then converted to an output frequency for the beeper. And wolla!

An increasing light intensity decreases the resistance of the photocell, decreasing the voltage drop across it. This gives a bigger binary number and hence a higher frequency beeping! (Check this again)
